Payment options include cash, credit (Visa/Mastercard), Medicare, Medicaid, most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and additional insurances. All credit and debit card transactions will now include a 3.5% transaction fee and electronic checks will include a $2.50 charge per order.

Additional Details

• Bring picture identification and all insurance cards to the clinic.
• The Health Division participates in the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) which offers vaccines at no cost for eligible children through 18 years old.
• No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available.

• Bring a driver's license or photo identification with current address
• Bring all insurance cards and vaccine records
• Wear a short sleeve shirt or shirt with a sleeve that can be rolled to the top of your arm
• All minors (17 & younger) need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian; legal guardians need to have guardianship papers

Flu shots are available to individuals age 6 months or older.

Flu vaccine is not recommended for people who are allergic to flu vaccine, had a serious reaction to flu vaccine in the past, previously developed Guillain-Barre syndrome within six weeks of getting a flu shot, or who currently has a fever.

As of April 4, 2026:

• 5,635 individual cases of influenza have been reported in Oakland County during the 2025-2026 flu season. 
• There have been 63 hospitalizations due to influenza reported in Oakland County.
• There have been 4,857 Emergency Department visits associated with influenza in Oakland County.
• There have been less than 5 pediatric and 58 adult influenza associated deaths reported in Oakland County. 

What is the difference between flu & COVID-19?

Flu and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses but caused by different viruses. COVID-19 is caused by infection with a coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and flu is caused by infection with influenza viruses. Some symptoms of flu and COVID-19 are similar and may be hard to tell them apart. Testing can help confirm if you are sick with flu or COVID-19. 

Will there be flu and COVID-19 this fall and winter?

It's not possible to say with certainty what will happen in the fall and winter, however the CDC believes it's likely that flu viruses and the virus that causes COVID-19 will both be spreading.

Can I have flu & COVID-19 at the same time?

Yes. It is possible have flu and COVID-19 at the same time. 

Is there a test that can detect both flu & COVID-19?

Yes. CDC has developed a test that will check for seasonal flu viruses and SARS CoV-2. Testing for these viruses at the same time will provide important information about how flu and COVID-19 are spreading and what prevention steps should be taken. If you think you have flu and COVID-19, call ahead to the clinic you plan to go to and ask if they are capable of testing for both illnesses. At this time, we do not have this test available at the Health Division.

Will a flu vaccine protect me from COVID-19?

Getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, however flu vaccination has many important benefits. Flu vaccines help reduce the risk of flu related illness including hospitalization and death. Getting a flu vaccine will not only reduce your risk from flu but also lessen the burden on the healthcare system this fall and winter.

If COVID-19 is spreading in my community, should I still go out and get a flu vaccine?

Yes. Getting a flu vaccine is crucial to protect you and your family's health. When going to get a flu vaccine, follow CDC's recommendations for running essential errands and doctor visits.
