Emergency Preparedness
The Emergency Preparedness Unit protects the public's health and safety by preparing for all types of emergencies such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and/or chemical spills. Emergency readiness in the community is enhanced by developing strong relationships with local partners, first responders and educating the community. All citizens are encouraged to learn what type of emergencies may impact their communities, schools, workplaces and/or businesses. Being knowledgeable about community hazards and vulnerabilities helps you be ready during a crisis.
Family Preparedness
If a disaster strikes, you might not have access to food, water, or electricity for some time. Take steps now to put together an emergency supply kit. Have emergency kits for your home, office, school, and vehicle.
An emergency supply kit is a collection of basic items that you might need during an emergency. Include all family members when building your kits.
