About Laura Dodd

Laura Dodd serves as an Oakland County Deputy Executive. She oversees the county’s economic development and aviation departments.

Previously, Dodd was the deputy director of economic development for Oakland County, where she oversaw divisions responsible for business development, planning and community development, veterans’ services and transit.

Prior to her tenure with Oakland County, she co-founded and served as the chief operating officer of Oakland Thrive. Her career also includes leadership roles with the University of Michigan, the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust and Cranbrook Institute of Science.

Dodd holds a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Western Michigan University.
