Post Date:09/09/2026 3:15 PM

PONTIAC, Mich. – The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office is currently reviewing evidence related to the shooting death that occurred Friday, September 4, outside the TGI Fridays restaurant in Southfield. At present, no charging decisions have been made. Investigators are still awaiting test results, including toxicology reports.

One woman died and two others were injured during the incident. A preliminary investigation determined that both the shooter and the victim were carrying handguns at the time of the dispute that led to the shooting.

“We are working closely with the Southfield Police Department to determine exactly what happened Friday night,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald. “Dozens of people were endangered by this shooting, and one woman lost her life. Gun owners have a responsibility to exercise good judgment and not settle disputes with gunfire.”

Charges are accusations, and individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
