Commissioners appoint replacement for Gary McGillivray
Ann Erickson Gault, D-Troy, was appointed to the role at the board’s Nov. 16 meeting, not long after she had been reelected to the Troy City Council, where she has served since late 2019.

Oakland SAVES initiative invests $5 million of ARP funds to reduce energy costs for income-qualified and other households
Eligible environmentally sustainable upgrades include attic, basement wall, crawlspace, duct, floor, and wall insulation; air sealing; door weatherstripping; and ENERGY STAR doors, windows, water heaters, air conditioners, furnaces and thermostats.

Oakland County establishes new park in Southfield
Approval was granted last week by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners for a partnership between Oakland County Parks and the city of Southfield for a portion of the former Beech Woods Golf Course spanning 39 acres to become Southfield Oaks.

Oakland SAVES will have grants to help homes be more energy efficient
The Oakland County Board of Commissioners designated $5 million of the county’s American Recovery Plan funds for the Oakland SAVES (Simple Actions for Valuable Energy Savings) grant program to help make environmentally sustainable improvements to income-qualified and other households.
