Join us for an inspiring evening at Oakland Community College as we highlight women thriving in traditionally male-dominated skilled trades fields. This event is designed to encourage conversation, share stories, and open doors for the next generation of women in trades.

The event’s objectives are:

To motivate young women to explore and pursue careers in male-dominant industries by sharing success stories and showcasing female role models.
To challenge and dismantle common stereotypes and misconceptions about women in skilled trades, promoting a culture of inclusivity.
To bring awareness of diverse career opportunities for females in skilled trades.
To educate attendees about the education opportunities within EMIT programs.

The panel discussion will cover a range of topics, including:

Personal journey and experiences in the skilled trades field.
Challenges encountered and how to overcome them.
Advice and insights for women interested in pursuing a career in skilled trades.
The importance of diversity and female representation in traditionally male-dominated industries.
The panel discussion will cover a range of topics, including:
Experience of female organizations and networking opportunities.

The event is free and open to the community (must register though)
Door prizes and light refreshments
The event structure will consist of a short presentation about OCC and the EMIT team, a panel discussion, Q&A, and a tour of the EMIT facilities for those who are interested.
