DESCRIPTION:<p>This 4-H Horse Orienteering event is a fun, interactive program open to 4-H youth and their families from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 at Rose Oaks County Park Nature Area. Combining a traditional orienteering course with horsemanship, register today to see who can use their map, compass and horsemanship skills to find a series of checkpoints in the woods the fastest.<br><br>Youth and families will move at their own pace through the park as they practice navigation skills, basic horsemanship skills and teamwork. This low-pressure, outdoor event is designed to build confidence, problem-solving skills and family engagement while maximizing time outside with horses and horse friends. No orienteering experience is needed.<br><br>Cost is $5. Riders must have at least one partner or a small group, no one rides alone. Youth under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult. You only need to register one rider from the group. Please carpool horses if possible as parking at the trail head is limited.<br><br>Registration is open now.
