Build a Registered Apprenticeship program to expand your skilled workforce and provide a comprehensive, work-based training opportunity.

Apprenticeships combine classroom study with paid, on-the-job training under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson or trade professional as a mentor.

The length of apprenticeships vary, depending on the training requirements that you determine are necessary for apprentices to succeed.

Registered Apprenticeship programs may be eligible for federal and state grant support.

Diving Deeper into Hiring Justice-Impacted Talent

Returning citizens are eager to work and contribute to their communities, yet they face staggering employment barriers. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, unemployment rates for formerly incarcerated individuals can reach up to 60 percent in some communities, even for those with minor offenses. For employers, this situation presents both a challenge and an opportunity.

Join us for our next free, virtual workshop, which looks at actionable strategies and practical solutions to foster equitable hiring and retention practices for justice-involved persons. Experts from the Goodwill “Flip the Script” program, a respected reentry initiative serving justice-involved people throughout Southeast Michigan, will share their strategies, success stories and firsthand knowledge on supporting justice-involved job seekers and helping employers become part of the solution
