Build a Registered Apprenticeship program to expand your skilled workforce and provide a comprehensive, work-based training opportunity.

Apprenticeships combine classroom study with paid, on-the-job training under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson or trade professional as a mentor.

The length of apprenticeships vary, depending on the training requirements that you determine are necessary for apprentices to succeed.

Registered Apprenticeship programs may be eligible for federal and state grant support.

An Innovative Approach to Developing the Next Generation Workforce

Data from the College Board, the national organization charged with helping students explore careers, indicates more than 80 percent of high school students nationwide want more career exploration opportunities. An impressive 79 percent of the students want real skill-building activities incorporated into their learning.

Join us for our next virtual workshop that will focus on developing the next generation workforce through educational partnerships that introduce students to viable careers and valuable skills before they enter
the labor market.

During the meeting, you will get a firsthand look at how the Oakland Schools Technical Campuses prepare students for real, in-demand careers. You also will learn how Oakland County Michigan Works!
links local business owners with students in the IamPontiac summer youth work experience program. Hands-on ways to establish lasting partnerships with schools and community partners will be shared, along with clear strategies to grow future talent.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Bridging Education and Industry: Align classroom learning with real workforce needs to prepare students for success in today’s economy.
  • Work-Based Learning Opportunities: Engage students through guest speakers, industry tours, job shadowing, mentorships, internships, field trips and more.
